Kimi

Kimi is an AI assistant made by Moonshot AI. You type a question or a task in plain language, and Kimi answers, explains, or produces the content you need. It is built on Moonshot AI's own large language models and is designed for both quick questions and long, multi-step work.

Key features:

• Chat and writing help: drafting emails, articles, summaries, translations, and rewrites, with follow-up questions in the same conversation.
• Web search: Kimi can look up current information online and show the sources it used, so answers are easier to check.
• Long documents: you can upload files such as PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and text files, or paste long text, and ask Kimi to summarise, compare, extract data, or answer questions about them.
• Research and agent modes: paid plans include tools that plan research, browse pages, and complete longer tasks with several steps.
• Coding support: help with reading code, explaining errors, writing snippets, and working with technical documentation.
• Mobile and desktop apps: chats are available in the browser and in the official apps, with voice input on mobile.

How it can be useful:

• Students can use it to explain difficult topics and to summarise study material.
• Office workers can turn long reports into short briefs and draft routine text faster.
• Researchers and analysts can search the web and work through large documents in one place.
• Developers can get explanations of code and quick drafts of scripts.

Kimi has a free tier that covers everyday chat, search, and file reading. A paid membership adds higher usage limits and advanced agent and research features.
